Our Story

It all began with a swipe…but, who swiped first? Though neither of us can agree on who made the first move (spoiler alert - it was Allie), one thing is certain - it was pretty much love at first DM.

Fueled by strong desires to meet sooner rather than later and running into busy schedules that prevented them from doing so, Kiley and Allie's first date was actually on FaceTime (and this was pre-Covid!). When they finally met in person, it was at Allie's favorite spot in the city, Alamo Square Park. A lovely afternoon picnic was had, followed by Allie whooping Kiley in SkeeBall¹, and ending with them talking non-stop. Kiley then traveled to Asia for 2.5 weeks, but didn't miss a day texting Allie. At that point she knew for sure that this boy liked her as much as she liked him.

They started officially dating shortly after Kiley returned from Japan, which was only about a month after the first date. “When you know, you know,” we always say. Allie challenged Kiley to get out of his comfort zone by taking the Bart to his first Cal Game Day, going camping, and testing his endurance with 15+ mile hikes, while Kiley challenged Allie to improve her cooking game, eat more sourdough bread, and try her hand at some mental math.

Covid shot down our trip to Paris in April 2020, but it allowed us to spend time at home doing all the things we love to do together - eating cheese, drinking wine, making cocktails, baking bread (mainly Kiley), and making every single night a reason to say cheers and to celebrate practically anything. We also discovered our mutual love of cycling and were lucky to find our bikes, Dale and Daliah, who have guided us on many trips including a 64 mile trek up to the top of Mount Tamalpais. Kiley forgot our lunch on that ride, but we don't like to talk about that anymore…

We finally moved in together when Kiley purchased a condo by Oakland's bustling Lake Merritt. He decided to renovate it himself from top to bottom, and since then the condo has blossomed into a beautiful space that they absolutely love to call their home. Recently, Allie settled into her career as an Orthodontist in Berkeley and Kiley has finally admitted that the East Bay is the best part of the Bay Area (at least top 2). Oh yeah, and we got engaged!

We are so happy with our life together and cannot wait to share our love with the family and friends who mean the most to us on our special day.
